My Role As A Psychotherapist

A Tower of Stones

My role as a psychotherapist is not to provide you with the answers but to create a good working alliance to facilitate you on a journey of exploration to aid your awareness and growth. I can help you to make sense of the way you feel and offer you support to help you manage the challenges that is currently impacting upon your life today.an empathetic way.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation is an evidence-based therapeutic intervention a therapist offers to clients to help them better understand the challenges they are facing or mental health condition. Psychoeducation is where a therapist's shares their thinking and theories,  for instance, they could encourage an individual to explore their human development. The goal of psychoeducation is to teach and individual problem-solving skills and provide them with the internal capacity to work toward mental and emotional well-being. Thereupon, a client could feel more in control of their condition or situation.

My Philosophy

My philosophical focus is that I believe human beings have the potential and the ability to find the best way to achieve growth and change. As a psychotherapist I can help individuals find meaning and make sense of their life. Particularly I am interested in exploring the ‘self’ in relationships with others and our experiences. I tailor my approach to meet the individual’s needs.

My belief as a Psychotherapist is to work on the premise that every individual has the ability to thrive in their chosen direction as they are the experts in their phenomenological experience.

Equality & Diversity

I recognise that many individuals and communities experience discrimination and oppression on the grounds of their gender, relationship or marital status, race or ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, age, health status, appearance, language, background, class, faith or religious belief, physical appearance and political opinions. I believe that equality for all is a basic human right and I actively oppose all forms of discrimination. I welcome discussions around these issues.
